Conference - message from Professor Michael Marsh

The Irish Research Council for the Social Sciences and Humanities (IRCHSS) has agreed to fund the 2007 Irish election study under its provision of infrastructural grants. This study will constitute the final wave of a panel started in 2002 (or here) with brief mail surveys in 2003, 2004 and 2006. Like the 2002 study it will be face-to-face interviews carried out by the ESRI, with the original panel topped up to ensure that 2007 is representative of the electorate in that year.

It is important that this study is designed in such a way as to be useful to the entire community of scholars working on elections in general and Irish elections in particular. To achive this we are seeking advice on the questionnaire from this community. To this end a conference will be held in Trinity College Dublin on September 29/30 in 2006.

Enquiries about attending shoud be addressed to zbyszek.zalinski@gmail.com
